Lakeside Retreat
Romelda offers six en-suite Safari Tents on the shores of Lake Mutirikwi near Masvingo, Zimbabwe, with private decks, garden-to-table dining, and quiet evenings by the fire.
Six Safari Tents sit in manicured gardens at the water’s edge, with private decks looking out over Lake Mutirikwi. Days move at an easy pace: garden-to-table meals, quiet hours on the shore, and evenings around the campfire under the stars. A slipway is on site for launching boats, free for guests staying at Romelda.

Standard Tents
Four Standard Tents sit among trees and shrubs for privacy while keeping open views of the garden and lake. Each has a small private deck, a spacious bedroom with an open wardrobe, and a modern en-suite bathroom. Insulated canvas and a shade roof keep tents cool in heat and warm on cooler days; mesh windows open to the lake breeze.

Luxury Tents
Two Luxury Tents provide an added outdoor bathroom with shower and bathtub alongside the en-suite. A king bed, private deck, wardrobe, and tea & coffee station complete a more spacious lakeside stay. Both Luxury Tents boast the best views of the lakeshore from their locations, slightly private to other tents.

Meals & Restaurant
At the Tented Lodge, meals are taken care of with a gourmet set-menu, based on seasonality from our garden or local farmers and producers. Every accommodation booking must include one of the food & beverage packages.
Please let us know ahead of arrival if you have any specific dietary requests. Our chefs can provide meals based on vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free, and other requirements.

From the lodge you can cruise the Popoteke and Mutirikwi, fish for bass, track white rhino in Kyle Recreational Park, or spend a Cultural Day Trip at Chamavara Caves, the dam wall, Great Zimbabwe, and St Francis Chapel. Activity prices exclude National Parks conservation and monument fees.

Good to know
- Must I book a food & beverage package?
- Yes. All Tented Lodge accommodation must include Half Board, Full Board, or All Inclusive.
- What are check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in after 14:00; check-out before 10:00, unless otherwise agreed.
- Can we book the whole lodge?
- Yes. Exclusive Use covers up to 12 guests across four Standard Tents and two Luxury Tents, with a minimum two-night stay.
- Is there power and WiFi?
- The lodge is predominantly solar-powered, but has reliable electricity from the main grid. Satellite WiFi is available in the main area; tents have plug points with USB chargers.
- Are we able to bring our own drinks?
- No. We offer a selection of local beverages at the bar and ask guests to refrain from bringing their own. If you would like to bring a special bottle of wine or spirits, corkage can be settled on departure.
- Is the lodge child-friendly?
- Yes. We have a dedicated play area for children, a swimming pool, and activities suitable for all ages. For younger children and toddlers, we suggest keeping a watchful eye around the swimming pool and deck edges.
